Literature Text

I can feel it,
I can feel it in my bones,
I can feel it in the air
I can feel it in the bird song
And in the green trees;
She's gone,
My friend, who I wouldn't have given up
Not for all the riches, not for all the power.
She's left me,
She doesn't need me;
She's slowing forgetting me.

But I can't do that.
I am unable to.
I can't bear the thought of forgetting her.
She was my friend,
And I was faithful to her until the last.
But If this is how it must,
Then I shall let it be.
But, my song shall be different,
Mixed with the memory of her.
I smell ethanol.
