"See ya Mom" I waved to her as I started walking uphill to Camp Half-Blood.
"Bye Percy! Say hi to Annabeth and Grover for me, I love you!" She yelled back. I felt my face get hot at the thought of Annabeth... We only saw eachother a few times during the school year but now she's officially my girlfriend.

Annabeth and I walked to the Big House to tell Chiron about our quest. Luckily, we met him near the cabins.
"Chiron, we-" Annabeth started, but he interrupted her.
"Yes Annabeth, Artemis has told me about your quest. You may go. Lucky for you, Hephaestus cabin has been working on a ship lately for high voyage!" He made a deep chuckle and pointed his hand to the beach, where a small sloop floated near the dock. How had I not seen that before?

When Mrs. Jackson walked downstairs to get herself a midnight—well, eleven o'clock—snack, she barely even glanced at the light coming out of the living room. (Being pregnant, and therefore constantly hungry, really diminishes one's perceptiveness.)
